The Secret Room
It was a normal Friday afternoon when Emma decided to clean the storage room in her family's old house. The room had not been cleaned for years, and there were boxes everywhere. Some were full of old clothes, while others contained books, toys, and things nobody used anymore.
كان عصر يوم جمعة عاديًا عندما قررت إيما تنظيف غرفة التخزين في منزل عائلتها القديم. لم يتم تنظيف الغرفة منذ سنوات، وكانت الصناديق موجودة في كل مكان. كان بعضها مليئًا بالملابس القديمة، بينما كان البعض الآخر يحتوي على كتب وألعاب وأشياء لم يعد أحد يستخدمها.
Emma moved one large box from the corner and suddenly noticed something strange. There was a small wooden door behind it.

She had lived in the house for more than ten years, but she had never seen the door before.

“What is this?” she whispered.

She tried to open it, but it was locked. Emma looked around the room and found an old key inside a small box. The key was covered with dust, but it looked like it might fit the lock.

She put the key into the lock and turned it slowly.

Click.
طَق!
The door opened.
انفتح الباب.
Emma took a step back. Behind the door was a narrow staircase that went down into darkness.
تراجعت إيما خطوة إلى الخلف. وخلف الباب كان هناك درج ضيق ينزل إلى مكان مظلم.
For a few seconds, she stood there without moving. She felt nervous, but she was also curious.
لبضع ثوانٍ، وقفت هناك دون أن تتحرك. كانت تشعر بالتوتر، لكنها كانت أيضًا تشعر بالفضول.
She turned on the flashlight on her phone and slowly walked down the stairs.
شغلت ضوء هاتفها وسارت ببطء إلى أسفل الدرج.
The stairs led to a small room under the house. There was an old table, a chair, and several boxes. On the wall, Emma noticed a large map.
قاد الدرج إلى غرفة صغيرة أسفل المنزل. كان هناك طاولة قديمة وكرسي وعدة صناديق. وعلى الحائط، لاحظت إيما خريطة كبيرة.
She walked closer to the map.

It showed the area around her house, but there was a red circle around a place she had never seen before.

Emma opened one of the boxes. Inside, she found old photographs.
فتحت إيما أحد الصناديق. ووجدت بداخله صورًا قديمة.
She picked up the first photograph and looked at it carefully. It showed her grandfather when he was young. He was standing beside a group of people in front of a large building.
التقطت الصورة الأولى ونظرت إليها بعناية. كانت تُظهر جدها عندما كان شابًا. كان يقف بجانب مجموعة من الأشخاص أمام مبنى كبير.
Emma turned the photograph over.
قلبت إيما الصورة.
There was a short message written on the back:
كانت هناك رسالة قصيرة مكتوبة على ظهرها:
“If you find this room, you are ready to discover the truth.”
"إذا وجدت هذه الغرفة، فأنت مستعد لاكتشاف الحقيقة."
Emma's heart started beating faster.
بدأ قلب إيما ينبض بسرعة أكبر.
“What truth?” she asked quietly.
قالت بهدوء: "أي حقيقة؟"
She continued searching through the boxes. After a few minutes, she found an old notebook. It belonged to her grandfather.
واصلت البحث في الصناديق. وبعد عدة دقائق، وجدت دفترًا قديمًا. كان الدفتر يخص جدها.
The notebook explained that many years ago, her grandfather and his friends had worked together to build a small community center. They wanted to create a safe place where children could study, play, and learn new skills.
شرح الدفتر أنه قبل سنوات عديدة، كان جدها وأصدقاؤه قد عملوا معًا لبناء مركز مجتمعي صغير. كانوا يريدون إنشاء مكان آمن يستطيع فيه الأطفال الدراسة واللعب وتعلم مهارات جديدة.
But the project was never completed because they ran out of money.
لكن المشروع لم يكتمل لأن المال نفد منهم.
Emma looked at the map again. The red circle showed the exact location of the unfinished building.
نظرت إيما إلى الخريطة مرة أخرى. كانت الدائرة الحمراء تُظهر الموقع الدقيق للمبنى غير المكتمل.
The next morning, Emma decided to visit the place.
في صباح اليوم التالي، قررت إيما زيارة المكان.
She followed the map through a quiet part of the neighborhood. After about twenty minutes, she found an old building hidden behind several trees.
اتبعت الخريطة عبر جزء هادئ من المنطقة. وبعد حوالي عشرين دقيقة، وجدت مبنى قديمًا مختبئًا خلف عدة أشجار.
The building was damaged, but the walls were still standing.
كان المبنى متضررًا، لكن الجدران كانت لا تزال قائمة.
Emma stood there and imagined the place her grandfather had dreamed about.
وقفت إيما هناك وتخيلت المكان الذي كان جدها يحلم به.
Then she had an idea.
ثم خطرت لها فكرة.
She took several photographs and sent them to her family. She told them everything she had discovered.

A few days later, the family met to discuss the project. Everyone was excited. They decided to contact the local community and see if they could finish what Emma's grandfather had started many years ago.

Months later, the old building looked completely different. The walls were repaired, the rooms were painted, and shelves were filled with books and learning materials.

On the opening day, Emma stood in the middle of the new community center and looked at the old photograph of her grandfather.

She smiled.
ابتسمت.
The secret room had not hidden a treasure.

It had hidden a dream.

And now, many years later, that dream had finally come true.
