🗝️ The Hidden Treasure
Learn 5 Oxford 5000 words through a short story
📖 The Story
Mia was a curious girl who loved exploring old places.
One afternoon, she visited her grandfather’s old house. In the basement, she noticed a small wooden door behind a box.
The door was almost hidden by dust and old clothes.
Mia opened it and found a small room. There was an old wooden box on the floor.
She walked toward it, but suddenly, the floor moved under her feet!
Mia stopped. She realized it was a trap.
She carefully stepped back and found a safe way to reach the box.
Inside, she found old coins, a beautiful necklace, and a letter from her grandfather.
It was treasure.
The letter said:
“The greatest treasure is not what you find. It is what you learn.”
Mia smiled. She had always been afraid of dark places, but that day, she learned that she could overcome her fear.
She left the treasure behind and went upstairs.
She had found something more valuable: courage.
